Labyrinths are 'mazes with no choices'; there is one path only to the centre. Walking a labyrinth can be a moving meditation where stillness while in motion is experienced.
Labyrinths can be drawn from 'seeds' and have interesting mathematical properties. For reference please see
Budd and Sangwin. Mathematics Galore!: Masterclasses, Workshops and Team Projects in Mathematics and its Applications. Oxford University Press, 2001.
There is also a journal for labyrinths, Caerdroia, that publishes a new edition annually. There is a animation of the construction of the classical labyrinth from its seed in the journal's on-line introduction.
